Joshua and Shelly's other reception

Here are some pictures from the reception at Le Jarden...

Joshua, you picked a good one! She is beautiful!

We think Josh looks like he should be a key master or something!

This picture doesn't make me baby hungry at all...

(can't you just hear the sarcasm in my typing)

The baby in the two above pictures is our niece Isabella. She belongs to Ryan and Sara and I think I might just have to keep her! Why would she want to grow up in Hawaii anyway?

I just had to add this one in because it is proof that I look somewhat like my mom!

RIP Little Buddy

Sergeant, aka Big Kitty, one of three of the Howard family cats was put down tonight. He had cancer in his nose and mouth. I know he is up there driving Curly and Odin Sr. nuts.

Big, in my cousin Aspen's lap (and the dumb rooster)

I'll miss my little "shrinkie head".

The best thing about being a tigger is I'm the only one...I'm the only one!

I also learned that 4,562 people have my first name and it is the 2,762nd most popular girls name! No wonder I haven't met anyone with my same name and spelling! (I have met others with my name they just ALL spell it wrong!)

Audition Update

I had my audition last night, and they asked me back for a second audition! My next audition is set for June 4! Hopefully I will really wow them next time, I felt I did ok last night but I know I can do better. (I joined them in their rehearsal and the song they were playing was a super crazy level 6, even the choir members said they hadn't played anything so difficult before.)

Everybody Pray for me!

My audition for the Bells on Temple Square is tomorrow night!

So everybody say a prayer and cross your fingers!

For those of you who don't know, the LDS church has a bell choir! Below is a small blurb from the website. http://www.mormontabernaclechoir.org/

"Ever since the arrival of the pioneer settlers in the Salt Lake Valley in 1847, music has rung out from Temple Square in praise of God, lifting the spirits of listeners around the world. In March 2005 a new sound was added to that musical tradition with the creation of Bells on Temple Square, organized under the auspices of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
For many years, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir had used borrowed handbells to enhance certain concert performances. Later, an anonymous donation made possible the purchase of a handbell set for the Choir. The 7-octave set of English handbells, a 6 ½-octave set of handbells, and two 6-octave sets of hand chimes, made it possible for a new musical organization to join the others on Temple Square.
When the formation of a bell choir was announced in February 2005, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir office received over 200 applications. After an initial test to determine the applicants’ musical knowledge, 90 musicians were invited back to demonstrate their abilities by ringing the bells, and of these, 28 were selected to be the charter members of Bells on Temple Square. Like the members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Orchestra at Temple Square, and Temple Square Chorale, the members of Bells on Temple Square are all volunteers.

Our Day Trip to Zion National Park

This weekend we drove to St. George to hang out with Russell's family. Ryan, Sara and their three beautiful girls flew from Hawaii to Las Vegas so Savanna could see Zion National Park. Along with Ryan and Sara, we got to hang out with Rachael, Phil and fam, Randy, and Grandma and Grandpa.

Savanna is going to be quite the photographer when she grows up. She asked if she could take a couple of pictures with my camera. I think the ones she took ended up being better than mine!

I think that Zion N.P. is one of the prettiest places in the world! While I'm certainly not a photographer, I did get some nice pictures of random stuff.

Deena asked us to get a picture of these flowers, they are Grandma Lichfield's favorite!

Columbine is one of my favorite flowers. We really went at the perfect time for flowers. The guide said they only bloom about 2 weeks out of the year!

Weeping Rock (There was water falling, I promise! You just can't see it!)

Savanna gave these leaves to Russ so he could remember our trip. We took a picture of them so we could leave them at the park!

This is just a fun little picture I took of me and Savanna. I LOVE being Aunt Liana! My brothers and sisters-in-law had better get on it! :)

And last but not least, the obligatory self portrait! (And one taken by Ryan to make us look better!)

We had a good time, but I can't wait to go back when Russell's foot is better to do some of the more serious hikes!

Our Trip to Palmyra!

Here are some pictures from our trip to New York. We really had a great time!

top: Russ just can't be serious!
bottom: At the Sacred Grove
Last week we got to go with some of the family to Palmyra New York! It was SO beautiful there! There were tons of trees and lilacs and everything was so green. top:The trail that goes down the back of the Hill Cumorah.
We learned that all of the growth on the Hill Cumorah was new, having been replanted by the church. After Joseph found the plates locals dug up the entire hill looking for more gold. Funny, right? Considering they didn't believe he'd found anything at all!
bottom: Just one of the many Lilacs that grew everywhere!
I thought this one was especially pretty

Josh and Shelly's wedding was beautiful and Russ and I over-indulged on Prime Rib at the all-you-could-ever-hope-to-eat buffet at their CASTLE reception. They looked so great and so happy. Shelly was a gorgeous bride and Josh didn't look too shabby in a tux!
top: Joshua and Shelly leaving the Temple as Husband and Wife.
The wedding was very spiritual and emotional and I don't think there was a dry eye in the sealing room. As Kenny said SO many times on that trip..."I didn't think this day would ever come!
middle: Russ and me at the temple on the wedding day
bottom: Joshua and Shelly and their first dance and husband and wife

We got to visit the Sacred Grove, the Hill Cumorah, and Niagara Falls. We even stopped in Buffalo, New York to eat authentic Buffalo Wings. They were quite yummy.

top: The American Falls from the American side. It's a bummer that you now need a passport to walk into Canada! I can't believe I was that close!

bottom: We went on the boat ride that takes you down to the falls. Aren't the ponchos awesome!

We were excited to spend time with Molly and Garrett, and get to now Baby Liam better! He is the happiest, sweetest little boy ever!
