A day at the rodeo, (ok not really, my dad compares it to watching a T-ball game!)

It was two days of many many many horses! My riding club, Saddle Pals, spent the weekend in Herriman competing against other riding clubs in Salt Lake. I got to ride in events for the first time ever! My brother Trevor, his wife Jayme, and her mom Carol are also in Saddle Pals with me. Its thanks to Jayme that I am even doing this.
The first thing we did was Grand Entry. It is just a mess of horses running through a slalom of flags. So fun! (Funny story, someone lost their hat during grand entry and the announcer wasn't satisfied until anyone who could walked on the hat, backed up, and stomped on it again! Oh, those western traditions!)

The events I got to compete in were team poles, team barrels, and team key hole. Poles was the first time I had ever competed on a horse. I was SOOOOOO nervous! But, with only a small set back (T-Boss was afraid to cross the white chalk starting line) I made it through with out knocking over a pole, falling off my horse, or dropping the baton, so Yay!

The next day we did our parade and drill routines for the judges. T-boss decided to freak out and do his own thing, so I had to drop out of drill (Sad!) but I got to race the barrels and keyhole so the day wasn't a complete waste. We didn't place much, but it was fun to be out there. We get to go to regionals to compete again this weekend! So if you find yourself in Logan, come see us!
Jayme and Noelle in Pairs Pleasure

Trevor and Cougar running real fast!

Trevor and Jayme got 4th place in the hide race, Jayme and Noelle got 4th in pairs pleasure, and two other girls on our team got 4th and 6th in ladies pleasure! Go team Go!

Hahaha, actually western pleasure is kinda boring to watch. It is pretty much walking, trotting and loping around the arena!
